Linda Leavengood Giddens - Biography

Linda Leavengood Giddens, born 1951 in Coral Gables, FL., has a B.S. in Recreation and Physical Education from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA

Linda's Skiers


has won 15 National Championships starting in 1964
in 1964 and 1968 won the National Overall Championship
in 1967, at the World Championship in Canada she placed 2nd in slalom,
   3rd in jump, 5th in tricks and 2nd overall
won the 1977 World Jump Championship in Milan, Italy
has held every National and World Jump Record in every division for age 12-35
in 1984 she was a member of the U.S. Senior Water Ski Team
   and placed 2nd overall in Italy
in 1982 she received a Special Citation from the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame
was invited 19 times to the prestigious Masters Water Ski Tournament,
   Callaway Gardens, Georgia (more than any other male or female) and won
   jumping there 5 times
in 1991 she was inducted into the Water Ski Hall of Fame
for the past 27 years has been a full-time water ski coach and ski school
   operator, specializing in the coaching of younger students and producing
   national champions
in 1996 honored at the GA Women's History Month
